I have had all of mine out. Three impacted ones were removed under general anaesthetic and when I woke up my chest was really painful, I swear the dentist kneeled on my chest to exert force to pull the teeth, although he said he didn't. That was a long, long time ago - 40 years maybe, The last one was removed by my current dentist and was not painful at all with the usual injections etc. You could ask for nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as a pre-relaxant.
